The newly renovated Zeta Chapter House was rededicated on September 12, 2009.
Brother Phil Young ('80), pastor of Salem Baptist Church gave the opening prayer.
Brother Buddy Heins ('79) introduced guests, members of the housing corporation and thanked everyone for their efforts to rebuild the house.
Brother Scott McWilliams ('78) spoke and presented a token of appreciation to Brother Ed Bankston ('73),
the project architect, Brother Gordon Heins ('73) and Brother Buddy Heins, members of the building committee. Brother McWilliams recognized John Heins('85) for his role as capital campaign coordinator.
Brother James Foristell ('01) the Director of Development of the Pi Kappa Alpha Educational Foundation presented the chapter officers with the 2008-2009 Robert Adger Smythe Award as one of the outstanding PiKA chapter in the nation. This is the 12th Smythe Award in the chapter's history.
Reframed pictures of J. Pike Powers (1895) and David C. Powers ('24) were presented by chapter External Vice President Trent Sanders. Former Powers Award winners were recognized and duplicates of their awards were presented to the chapter and will hang in the trophy cases as the house.
A reframed picture of Brother Bobby Burns('66) was presented by chapter Internal Vice President Edward Haaga.
Brother Charles Herd ('42) presented the chapter a reframed picture of Miss Francis "Johnnie" Johnson, a former registrar of the university and first Dream Girl of Zeta Chapter.
Brother Ben Davidson('67) presented a reframed picture of Mom Ross, a long-time house mother at Zeta Chapter.
The portrait of Brother Tom Wade('53) was unveiled by Brother Will Wade('91) and the Wade Family.
Brother Chad Holliday('67) presented an original oil portrait of Brother Daniel McGehee('63).
All portraits will hang in the Burns Room for years to come.
A new scholarship at the Education Foundation was named for Brother Buddy Heins. A plaque that will hang in the trophy case to recognize future scholarship recipients was presented to Buddy Heins.
A tailgate lunch was enjoyed by Actives and Alumni with seating on the new porch.
